Practical prep guide

What to pack for a track day.

Bring the essentials, stay comfortable, and leave enough mental space to focus on learning once the track goes hot.

Car track day

Pack for a calm, organized day.

Pack for the day you actually have: a long day outside, changing weather, multiple sessions, and the possibility that the car needs a small adjustment. Bring what helps you stay safe and focused—not a garage worth of extras.

Paperwork and basics

Driver’s license, event confirmation, track address, payment method, and a fully charged phone. Keep them together so check-in is quick.

Personal gear

Your helmet and the clothing the organizer requires, plus closed-toe shoes, water, food, sunscreen, and weather layers.

Car checks

Tire-pressure gauge, torque wrench if you know the correct wheel-lug specification, engine oil appropriate for your car, and a clean rag.

Paddock comfort

A chair, shade if you have it, a small cooler, and a way to keep your phone charged. A rested driver makes better decisions.

Car essentials checklist

Check off only what applies to your vehicle and your event. Your event confirmation and tech requirements are the final authority.

1. Pack by zone

Keep check-in items together.

Put your license, confirmation, wallet, and phone in one bag or pouch. Separate them from your tools and food so you are not searching in the paddock.

2. Plan the weather

The paddock can be a long day outside.

A light rain layer, sunscreen, water, and shade are boring until you need them. Treat them as part of the plan, not optional extras.

3. Leave room to learn

Your first day is not a repair day.

If your car or bike needs a major fix, solve it before the event. On the day, use your energy for check-in, instruction, hydration, and smooth sessions.

What not to bring

Avoid bringing problems into the paddock.

Avoid packing loose objects in the cabin or trunk. They become distractions and may be removed at tech. Do not bring tools or fluids you do not know how to use.

Next step

Pair your packing list with a first-day plan.
